Floating Break - Started after a time of day

 

This type of punch break allows you to define a time during the day when the break can be started. For example, the employee can punch out to start a break anywhere from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

  1. Choose Setup from the navigation list.
  2. From the slide out menu select Breaks.
  3. Choose + New.
  4. Enter an identifier for the break at the Name field.
  5. Under Punched Break Type, use the drop down menu to select Time of Day (Floating)ClosedSelect this option if you wish to define the time window for when the punched break can be started. For example, the employee cna punch Out to start their break anywhere from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM..
  6. Under Paid Break Type, select whether the break is paid or unpaid.
  7. Under Break May Start Between, enter a value for both Earliest and Latest that the break can be punched.
  8. Under Break Length, enter an amount of time that the break is allowed to be. For example, if the break should be 30 minutes enter 0:30.
  9. Under Extended Break Length, enter the maximum amount of time that the break is allowed to be. If this time is exceeded, the punches will not be considered break punches but as normal In and Out punches.
  10. Under Rounding Rule For Extended Break, select how the total time of the break will round if it exceeds the break length but is less than the Extended Break Length.
  11. Select Save to keep the changes.
